Owen has several years experience in oil and gas field construction, maintenance and operations. He has worked in a large sour gas plant as a process operator, LPG plant operator and shift engineer. Owen spent 25 years at SAIT as an instructor, Department Head of the Power Engineering Department and Dean of the Energy and Natural Resources Department. He presently is the Manager Integrity & Capability Development, Chief Inspector at Keyera Energy, involved with the pressure equipment integrity program, the pipeline integrity program and the electrical quality control program for all of Keyera's facilities.
Owen holds an Alberta First class Power Engineering certificate and an In-Service Pressure Vessel Inspector certificate. He currently sits on the CSA Z662 Production committee and is active on several other related committees.
