CMDS REGISTRANTS
The Competency Management and Development Sytems (CMDS) will not provide access to any personal information to any party (other than the registrants themselves) who register under the CMDS as an "individual user". Personal information includes demographics (name, address, etc.), Education, Employment, Personal Time Sensitive responses, Personal Profile responses, Professional Designations and Self-Assessed profile responses.
CMDS administrators will have access to an individuals' personal information for the strict and exclusive purposes of administration and system maintenance.
The individual may of their own volition provide access to their personal information within CMDS to whomever they choose and likewise by granting consent to the CMDS Administrator to release such access to others, but by way of written direction.
Individuals who register on the CMDS via a company will allow access to view their individual information to their direct supervisors, higher management or their designated administrators as determined from the corporations' organizational chart.
If an individual registers with CMDS via a third party or organization (eg. as an employer, association, etc.) administrators for that organization will have access privileges restricted to a clients record.
VALIDATING AGENCY
In the event that an individual registers in an area that has a validating agency (such as the petroleum field), validating agency administrators will have restricted access for the purposes of administration and system maintenance.
CERTIFICATION
The CMDS is being used by many educational institutions and certifying bodies as a means for course credit and certification. In the event that a person wishes this certification, they will activate the request personally (via CMDS).
The birth date is frequently used by certifying organization for the purpose of student ID and thus a candidates' birth date is required for certification. The certifying body has the right to view the individual's information on the system during the certification process. By asking for certification from and organization (i.e. college) the individual candidate is deemed to have granted access to the specific candidates' information within CMDS.
VALIDATION
CMDS encompasses both task performance appraisal and validation of ability. The individual agrees that in order for a procedure to be validated, upon pressing the "submit button" found on the validation screen, the personal information will be disclosed to the Validator. This information is only available to the Validator during the validation process.
Performance appraisal access will only be available for people who enter the system via a company. All previous access rules noted above, remain in force.
ACCESS TO INFORMATION
An individual will have access to their information as long as they are a user in good standing that is, not guilty of malicious use of the system and the client user account is current.
Should an individual user move from one organization to another, upon notifying CMDS, the user's information will be moved to the new organization. An individual can allow more than one company to view their information as a multi-company user. This is done by contacting CMDS and providing the relevant information.
CONFIDENTIALITY
All administrators of the system agree to maintain confidentiality of information documented on the system as required by their organization and by the regional (Federal, State, Provincial, Municipal) laws. All individuals using the system agree that they will not provide access to unauthorized individuals.
